What it's actually like to live with
The Havells ET-X solves a very real Indian problem - tiny kitchen counters in 1BHK apartments and studio flats in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore where every centimetre of platform space matters. Its slim profile genuinely makes a difference when you are working with a kitchen counter that barely fits a cooktop and a cutting board side by side.
The Havells brand name carries weight in Indian homes, and the build quality reflects that reputation. At 1900W, it handles everyday cooking for a couple or small family - morning chai, pressure cooking dal in a 3-litre cooker, simmering curries, and basic frying all work fine.
Where it shows its limits is heavy-duty cooking - a large family's 5-litre pressure cooker or deep frying in a big kadhai will feel sluggish compared to 2100-2200W models. The 1-year warranty is disappointing when Prestige offers 3 years on their flagship.
At Rs 3,000-3,500, it is competitively priced but not a bargain. Best suited for space-constrained small households who trust Havells and do not need heavy cooking power.
