The specifications are nearly identical, making the price difference the primary reason to choose one over the other.
The included recipe book with Indian-specific dishes is surprisingly useful for first-time air fryer owners. Instead of searching YouTube for "how to make paneer tikka in air fryer" and getting conflicting advice, you get tested temperature and time settings for tandoori gobhi, air-fried mathri, crispy aloo tikki, and about 30 other Indian dishes. We followed the paneer tikka recipe exactly and the results were excellent on the first attempt.
The 8 preset menus are calibrated thoughtfully for both Indian and international cooking. The Indian presets account for the thicker marinades and higher moisture content typical of tandoori preparations, automatically extending cooking time compared to the drier Western-style presets. At 1700W, it preheats quickly and maintains consistent temperature throughout the cooking cycle.
The trade-off versus the Havells is brand recognition and service network. Havells has 60 years of Indian household presence and service centres in tier-3 cities. American Micronic is a newer brand with service concentrated in major metros. If you live in a city where American Micronic has authorized service and want to save Rs 500 on an otherwise equivalent product, this is a smart buy. If after-sales service accessibility matters more, spend the extra Rs 500 on the Havells. The basket handle getting warm during extended cooking sessions above 25 minutes is a minor annoyance - use a dry cloth when pulling out the basket. Monthly running cost is about Rs 150-200 for daily use, identical to the Havells.
