For college students in hostel rooms or young professionals in their first rented flat, the price is the entire pitch - and it is a compelling one. You get 16 million colors, Alexa and Google voice control, and basic scheduling.

Saying 'Alexa, set bedroom lights to blue' and having it actually work at this price point is satisfying. Syska's pan-India service network is a genuine advantage over international brands in smaller cities.

If something goes wrong in Indore or Lucknow, you can actually find a service centre.
