What it's actually like to live with
The math on the Gesto 10M is hard to argue with. At roughly Rs 150 per metre, it costs less than half of what TP-Link charges per metre and a fraction of the Philips WiZ. For large Indian master bedrooms of 14x14 ft or bigger, where you want to run strips along the entire ceiling cove, you need about 8-9 metres - and the Gesto covers that in a single continuous run without joins or extensions.
The 600 LEDs across 10 metres maintain reasonably consistent brightness end to end, solving the dimming problem that plagues cheap strips at longer runs. The IP65 waterproofing means monsoon humidity will not degrade it prematurely. Music sync and app control work as advertised, though the app itself is basic and occasionally laggy.
The IR remote is a useful backup when Wi-Fi misbehaves. Build quality reflects the price point - adequate but not premium. The adhesive backing may need reinforcement with extra mounting clips on textured Indian wall surfaces.
If your priority is covering maximum wall or ceiling length at minimum cost, and you accept a basic rather than polished experience, the Gesto 10M delivers undeniable value.
