What it's actually like to live with
The Halonix Prizm brings a genuinely creative feature to Indian smart lighting - the gallery colour-matching that extracts colours from your phone photos and replicates them in your ceiling. It sounds gimmicky but is surprisingly useful when you want your lighting to complement new curtains, wall paint, or seasonal decor. The state retention memory is critically important for Indian homes - when power cuts hit and electricity returns, the light comes back to exactly where you left it instead of defaulting to harsh white.
Made in India manufacturing means Halonix understands local conditions, and the build quality reflects that. The practical limitations are worth noting - RGB colours are noticeably dimmer than white mode, which is common across smart lights but more apparent in downlights where you expect consistent brightness. WiFi reconnection after extended outages can require manual intervention through the app, which defeats the purpose of smart lighting during India's monsoon season when power fluctuations are frequent.
At Rs 2,500-3,000, it is well-priced for the feature set, especially the unique colour-matching capability that no other Indian market downlight offers.
