What it's actually like to live with
The Havells Glamax sells on two things - the Havells name and the B22 base. In Indian households, Havells carries a level of trust that international smart home brands simply have not built yet, and for many families, that trust is worth paying extra. The direct B22 base is a practical win - no adapter wobble, no extra cost, just screw it in and go.
Music sync works well enough for casual use, picking up beats from speakers and pulsing colours accordingly. The Havells Sync app is the weak link here - it feels dated compared to Tapo and WiZ, with occasional lag when switching scenes and a clunky interface for creating custom colours.
Build quality of the bulb itself is solid, with a heft that cheaper bulbs lack.
At Rs 800-1,200, you are paying a brand premium when the Wipro NS9400 offers music sync at Rs 600-800.
But if your household has been buying Havells switches, fans, and wiring for years and you trust the brand implicitly, the Glamax delivers reliable smart lighting without any compatibility surprises.
