What it's actually like to live with
The Qubo 12W is an interesting proposition backed by Hero Group, one of India's largest industrial conglomerates. The 16 preset scene modes are the most in this roundup and include practical Indian-relevant options beyond the typical party and movie modes.
The dual WiFi-plus-Bluetooth connectivity is reliable, and the energy monitoring feature adds transparency to your electricity consumption.
Where Qubo really makes sense is if you already own Qubo cameras or other Hero Group smart devices - the unified app control creates a cohesive smart home experience. For standalone use, the story is less compelling.
The QUBO app needs significant polish - navigation is clunky, scene switching has noticeable lag, and the onboarding process for first-time users could be smoother. The E27 base requiring a B22 adapter is a missed opportunity for the Indian market. Retail availability can be patchy, with stock issues on major e-commerce platforms.
At Rs 800-1,200, you are paying more than the Wipro NS9400 for an app experience that is not yet as refined. Buy it if you are in the Qubo ecosystem; otherwise, better standalone options exist.
