What it's actually like to live with
The Wipro 12.5W solves a genuine problem in Indian homes - large joint-family living rooms and halls that need serious illumination, not the modest output of a 9W bulb. At 12.5W, it throws enough light to serve as a primary ceiling fixture in rooms up to 250 sq ft, which covers the large drawing rooms common in Indian households. The B22 base and Wipro branding make it a comfortable purchase for traditional families.
Music sync and energy monitoring add smart features that justify the step up from the basic NS9200. The practical downside is heat - at 12.5W, the bulb runs noticeably warmer than 9W alternatives, which matters in already-hot Indian rooms during summer.
If you are running this alongside an AC, no issue. In a non-AC room, the heat output is perceptible when the bulb is at full brightness for hours. The energy monitoring feature is genuinely useful here since higher-wattage bulbs contribute more meaningfully to electricity bills.
At Rs 1,000-1,500, it is competitively priced against the Philips WiZ Neo while offering Indian brand support and B22 compatibility.
