Editor's take
The Fitbit Sense 2 review is strongest for buyers who care more about stress and sleep than race splits. It is not the newest-looking smartwatch, but it still has a clear job.
ECG, stress tracking, SpO2, heart-rate data, GPS, sleep tools, and multi-day battery life make it a useful wellness watch. Alexa Built-in also gives it a smart home angle that Garmin lacks.
The no-subscription answer is nuanced. Sense 2 works without Fitbit Premium, but Premium still holds some deeper reports and guided content. If you hate seeing paid prompts, you may not enjoy Fitbit ownership.
Compared with Charge 6, Sense 2 gives you a larger screen and more of a smartwatch feel. Compared with Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch, it is less app-rich but easier on battery.
The best buyer is someone who wants a calmer wearable for sleep, stress, light workouts, notifications, and Alexa timers. It is not the watch we would choose for marathon training or deep app use.
Sense 2 remains useful because it fills a specific lane: wellness-first smartwatch, no required subscription, familiar Fitbit experience, and better battery than most full smartwatches.
